👉She ate breakfast at 7 am.
👉They went to the beach last weekend.

Untuk membentuk kalimat negatif dalam bentuk simple past tense, "did not" ditambahkan sebelum bentuk dasar kata kerja. Misalnya,
👉I did not walk to the store yesterday.
👉She did not eat breakfast at 7 am.

Untuk membentuk pertanyaan dalam bentuk simple past tense, "did" ditambahkan sebelum subjek, dan kata kerja tetap dalam bentuk dasarnya. Contohnya,
👉Did you walk to the store yesterday?
👉Did she eat breakfast at 7 am?

The Differences Between Must and Have To

OBLIGATION

Must Vs. Have To

Both Must and have to express obligation or necessity, but there are some small differences:

• Must expresses the speaker's feelings, whereas have to expresses, above all, an impersonal idea:
You must come. You are obliged to come (I require that you come)
You have to come. You are obliged to come. (There's a rule requiring you to come)
Must I wear this tie? Am I obliged to wear this tie? (What do you think?)
Do I have to wear this tie? Am I obliged to wear this tie? (Is there a rule about ties?)
• Have to mainly expresses general obligations, while must is used for specific obligations:
I have to brush my teeth twice a day.
I must tell you something.
Important: To express obligation, duty or necessity in the future or the past, must and need are not used. They are replaced by have to:
We must (need tobuy another ticket.
We had to buy another ticket yesterday.
We'll have to buy another ticket later.
However, in their negative forms, mustn't and don't have to have completely different meanings:

• Mustn't expresses prohibition
You mustn't drive. You are prohibited to drive. You are not allowed to drive.
• Don't have to expresses the absence of obligation or necessity:
You don't have to drive. You are not obliged to drive (but you can if you want to).

Intertextuality Between The Taming Of The Shrew And The Perfect Husband

Intertextuality Between The Taming Of The Shrew and The Perfect Husband

Intertextuality is the complex interrelationship between a text and other texts taken as basic to the creation or interpretation of the text.

The Taming Of The Shrew

The Taming of the Shrew is a comedy by William Shakespeare, believed to have been written between 1590 and 1592. The play begins with a framing device, often referred to as the induction,[a] in which a mischievous nobleman tricks a drunken tinker named Christopher Sly into believing he is actually a nobleman himself. The nobleman then has the play performed for Sly's diversion.

The main plot depicts the courtship of Petruchio and Katherina, the headstrong, obdurate shrew. Initially, Katherina is an unwilling participant in the relationship; however, Petruchio "tames" her with various psychological and physical torments, such as keeping her from eating and drinking, until she becomes a desirable, compliant, and obedient bride. The subplot features a competition between the suitors of Katherina's younger sister, Bianca, who is seen as the "ideal" woman. The question of whether the play is misogynistic has become the subject of considerable controversy, particularly among modern scholars, audiences, and readers.

The Taming of the Shrew has been adapted numerous times for stage, screen, opera, ballet, and musical theatre; perhaps the most famous adaptations being Cole Porter's Kiss Me, Kate; McLintock!, a 1963 American Western comedy film, starring John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara; and the 1967 film of the play, starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. The 1999 high-school comedy film 10 Things I Hate About You, and the 2003 romantic comedy Deliver Us from Eva are also loosely based on the play.

The Perfect Husband

The Perfect Husband is a 2018 Indonesian comedy-drama film directed by Rudi Aryanto and based on the novel of the same name by Indah Riyana. This film stars Dimas Anggara, Amanda Rawles, Maxime Bouttier, Slamet Rahardjo, Tanta Ginting, and Bunga Zainal.

Ayla (Amanda Rawles), a beautiful 3rd year high school girl, is enjoying her teenage years and her love story with Ando (Maxime Bouttier), the vocalist of a rock band. He was very surprised when one day a young pilot named Arsen (Dimas Anggara) appeared, who claimed to be his future husband. Ayla is upset, because she believes that it is Tio (Slamet Rahardjo), her father, who set her up with Arsen, because Ando is considered sloppy, tattooed, and has no future. Arsen is the opposite of Ando. Arsen is a young pilot with a bright future, and the perfect husband-to-be for Ayla. Ayla tries hard to thwart this matchmaking. Beyond Alba's expectation, Arsen was not easy to give up. Arsen remained patient with him, even starting to have a plus in Ayla's eyes. One day, Ando managed to get Ayla to run away and quit her school. Tio opened the secret, why Tio insisted on setting Ayla with Arsen from the start.
